Your Sideof the Table.

Most homeowners hire a contractor and hope for the best. We sit on your side of it — running the design, the bids, the permits, and the schedule, so the project you paid for is the project you get.

What We Do

One Person Who Owns the Whole Thing

A remodel or an ADU has a dozen moving parts and a dozen people who each only care about their piece. We're the one who carries the whole project — and the only one whose interests line up with yours.

01

Owner's Representation

We act on your behalf from day one — reviewing scope, catching what's missing, and making sure decisions get made with your money in mind, not someone else's margin.

02

Project Management

Schedule, sequencing, site coordination, and the weekly follow-up that keeps a job moving. You get one point of contact instead of six phone numbers.

03

Design & Concept Development

Layouts, renderings, and material direction so you can see and judge the project before it's framed — when changes are still free.

04

Bidding & Contractor Selection

We put together a real scope, take it to qualified builders, and level the bids side by side so you're comparing the same project — not three different guesses.

05

Budget & Change Order Control

Tracking cost against the original number, pressure-testing change orders, and telling you early when something is drifting — while there's still room to act.

06

ADUs & Additions

Feasibility, city requirements, and permitting for accessory dwelling units and additions — the part of the process that stalls most projects before they start.

How Decisions Get Made

You See It Before You Build It

Before a shovel moves, you get renderings, layouts, and a material palette you can actually react to. It's a lot cheaper to change your mind on paper than in framing — and it's how bids come back accurate instead of optimistic.

Common Questions

Questions We Get Asked

What does an owner's representative actually do?

An owner's representative manages a construction project on the homeowner's behalf. SHR Build handles the design direction, puts the scope out to bid, compares the bids on equal terms, tracks the budget and schedule, and holds the contractor to what was agreed. You get one person accountable for the whole project instead of coordinating a designer, a builder, and a half-dozen subs yourself.

Do I still hire a general contractor?

Yes. SHR Build does not hold the construction contract or perform the work — a licensed general contractor does. We sit on your side of that agreement: we help you choose the right builder, make sure the scope is complete before you sign, and represent your interests while the work is underway. Staying independent of the contractor is the point of the role.

When should I bring you in?

As early as possible. The decisions that cost the most money are made before framing starts — layout, scope, and which builder you hire. Bringing in an owner's representative at the concept stage is where the role pays for itself. That said, we also step into projects already in progress when something has gone sideways.

What does it cost to hire an owner's representative?

Fees depend on the size and length of the project and how much of it you want managed. SHR Build will walk you through exactly how our fee works on the first call and put it in writing before you commit to anything. The first conversation is free.

Can you help with an ADU?

Yes. SHR Build handles ADU feasibility, city requirements, and permitting in Orange County, along with design and construction management once the project is approved. Permitting is where most ADU projects stall, so it's worth sorting out before you spend money on anything else.

What areas do you serve?

SHR Build works throughout Orange County, California, including Anaheim, Orange, Tustin, Santa Ana, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano, Dana Point, and Laguna Niguel.
